2021 All-South Metro Coach of the Year & ASWA 6A Alabama Boy’s Basketball Coach of the Year

Tyler Davis born in Elkhart, Indiana. He played at Concord High School (same high school as former NBA All-Star Shawn Kemp) and was starting point guard from 1991-1994. He led his team in assists and three point field goals made all 3 seasons and was the leading scorer and MVP his senior year.

Tyler earned a full ride Division 1 basketball scholarship to Samford University from 1994-1998. He was the starting point guard in every game his junior year helping lead the Bulldogs to a 19-9 record and the biggest upset in Samford history at the time beating LSU at the Pete Maravich Center. He also shot 45.7% from the 3 that year which led the Bulldogs and also was tied for 15th in the country.

Tyler has coached at Vestavia Hills for 9 years before coming to Mountain Brook. He has been on staff and helped lead the Spartans to 5 State Championships and 7 title games.

Tyler has worked numerous camps throughout his career and does basketball training on the side. He lives in Mountain Brook and is married to Ashley and they have 3 children - Ty, Trey and Avery who all love the game of basketball!
